Vitalink Terms and Conditions of Use
Effective Date: April 20, 2026 Version: 1.0
⚠️ PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING VITALINK. By creating an account, downloading, installing, or otherwise accessing the application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Vitalink.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and the operators of Vitalink ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Vitalink mobile application, its features, content, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Your continued use of the Service following any updates to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.
2. Description of the Service
Vitalink is an AI-powered personal health management application that provides the following core features:
- Medication tracking, scheduling, and adherence logging
- Vitals monitoring including blood pressure, blood sugar, and heart rate
- Secure document storage for prescriptions, lab reports, and medical records
- AI-powered OCR and analysis of uploaded health documents
- Family and caregiver access management via token-based permission grants
- Appointment scheduling and contextual health notes
Vitalink is a personal health management tool and is NOT a licensed medical service, clinical practice, or substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Service. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Your use of the Service will not violate any applicable law or regulation
Minors may use the Service only if a parent or legal guardian creates an account and manages their health data on their behalf. The account holder accepts full responsibility for compliance with these Terms.
4. Account Registration and Security
4.1 Registration
To access most features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.
4.2 Authentication
Vitalink uses Better Auth, a secure authentication framework, to manage user sessions. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
4.3 Account Responsibility
You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your credentials.
5. Health Data and Medical Disclaimer
5.1 Not Medical Advice
THE SERVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE. All content and outputs generated by Vitalink, including AI-generated analyses of uploaded documents, are for informational and organizational purposes only. Nothing on or through the Service constitutes professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
ALWAYS consult a qualified healthcare professional with questions about your medical condition or before making any decisions based on information from the Service.
5.2 AI Analysis Limitations
The AI-powered document analysis feature uses optical character recognition (OCR) and large language models to extract data from uploaded lab reports and prescriptions. This analysis:
- May contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations
- Is dependent on the quality and legibility of uploaded documents
- Should be verified by a licensed healthcare professional
- Is not intended to replace laboratory reports or physician interpretation
5.3 Accuracy of User-Entered Data
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of health data you manually enter (medications, vitals, appointments, etc.). We make no representations about the accuracy of user-submitted data.
6. Family and Caregiver Access
Vitalink provides a grant-based caregiver access system that allows you to share your health data with trusted individuals. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree:
- You are responsible for choosing who receives access to your health data
- Access grants may be set to "Read-Only" or "Full Access" roles
- Access tokens are high-entropy and time-limited at your discretion
- You may revoke access at any time; revocation takes effect immediately
- Each account may have up to 5 active caregiver relationships at a time
- Caregiver chains are prohibited — caregivers may not grant sub-access to additional parties
We strongly recommend that you only share access tokens with individuals you trust. We are not responsible for misuse of access by individuals you voluntarily authorize.
7. AI Features, Credits, and Rate Limits
AI-powered document analysis consumes credits from a monthly allotment associated with each user account. Credits are consumed per analysis request (costs vary by document type). We reserve the right to:
- Adjust monthly credit allotments with reasonable notice
- Apply burst and sustained rate limits to prevent system abuse
- Refund credits if an AI API call fails before processing begins
AI features are provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or response time of third-party AI services.
8. Third-Party Services and Infrastructure
Vitalink relies on the following third-party service providers to deliver its functionality. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to the processing of your data by these providers in accordance with their respective policies:
8.1 Convex — Database and Real-Time Backend
All user data — including health records, medications, vitals, and appointments — is stored and processed on servers operated by Convex, Inc. Convex infrastructure is hosted on servers located in the United States. Your data will be stored in and processed from the United States.
- Privacy Policy: https://www.convex.dev/privacy
8.2 Cloudflare R2 — Document Storage
Uploaded documents (lab reports, prescriptions, medical records) are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Files are accessed via short-lived presigned URLs.
- Privacy Policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
8.3 OpenRouter — AI Gateway
AI document analysis requests are routed through OpenRouter, an AI model aggregation service. Vitalink operates under OpenRouter's Zero Data Retention policy, meaning that prompts and AI responses are not stored, logged, or used for model training by OpenRouter.
Zero Data Retention: Under this policy, no request content (including your document data) is retained by OpenRouter beyond the immediate API transaction required to generate the response.
- Terms of Service & Privacy Policy: https://openrouter.ai/privacy
8.4 Google Gemini — AI Model (via Vertex AI)
AI document analysis is powered by Google Gemini models, delivered via OpenRouter. Because requests are processed via OpenRouter under zero-data-retention terms, Google does not receive data in a form associated with your Vitalink account.
Applicable Google policies:
- Google Cloud Terms of Service: https://cloud.google.com/terms
- Vertex AI Privacy Notice: https://cloud.google.com/vertex-ai/docs/general/usage-privacy
- Google API Services User Data Policy: https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy
8.5 Better Auth — Authentication
User authentication, session management, and OAuth flows are handled by Better Auth. Authentication data (sessions, account links) is stored in Convex within the same data isolation boundary as your application data.

9. Data Location and Cross-Border Transfer
🔴 BY USING VITALINK, YOU EXPLICITLY CONSENT TO THE TRANSFER, PROCESSING, AND STORAGE OF YOUR PERSONAL AND HEALTH DATA ON SERVERS LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Your account profile and authentication credentials
- All health data: medications, vitals, appointments, report results
- Uploaded documents stored in Cloudflare R2
- AI analysis requests sent to OpenRouter and Google Gemini
If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred internationally. By continuing to use the Service, you consent to this transfer. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is protected in accordance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
10. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent health data
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Service

- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
11. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including its software, user interface, design, and content (excluding user-submitted health data), remain with Vitalink and its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal health management purposes.
You retain ownership of all health data and documents you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process and store that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
12. Account Deletion and Data Removal
You may delete your account at any time from within the application. Upon account deletion:
- All stored health records, medications, vitals, appointments, and report results are permanently deleted from Convex
- All uploaded documents are deleted from Cloudflare R2 storage
- All authentication records, sessions, and OAuth account links are removed
- All active caregiver access grants are revoked and deleted
- AI credit and rate-limit records are removed
Deletion is irreversible. Some data may persist in backup systems for a limited period before being purged in accordance with our standard data lifecycle policies.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We specifically disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, in no event will Vitalink or its officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, health outcomes, or goodwill.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Vitalink and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Vitalink is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under applicable rules.
17. Modifications to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Displaying a notice within the application
- Sending a notification to your registered email address (if applicable)
- Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Contact Information

For questions relating to third-party services, please also refer to the respective provider policies listed in Section 8 of these Terms.
